How soon and where can SunMed Medical Systems deliver a product?

We have National coverage and can typically deliver within 24 hours of receipt of insurance verification and authorization. Some larger and heavier products such as institutional style bariatric and institutional style enclosed bed systems may require a home assessment prior to delivery.

Does SunMed Medical Systems “Balance Bill” patients?

We negotiate a fair rate with the patient’s indemnity insurance carrier, or worker’s compensation carrier, and bill only for out of pocket and co-pay expenses that are dictated by the individual’s insurance plan. In some cases for government payor situations, however, there may be additional payments due.

Does SunMed Medical Systems bill Medicare B?

Yes. However, because of the nature of our hospital-grade products, Medicare B may not cover the full cost of our specialty products. We will work with individual patients to come up with the most cost-effective solution.

Will you speak to my health care provider if he/she is unfamiliar with your product?

Absolutely. If a clinician is unaware of one of our products, we can contact them directly and provide them product information to help them better understand how our therapies might help their patients.

Will you provide in-servicing to my health care provider?

In-servicing on our products is always available, and we will visit with health care providers involved with our equipment whenever it is requested. Sometimes, it is a visit to a physician’s office or to a hospital clinician. In most cases, however, we are asked to provide in-servicing to a home health nurse while they are in the patient’s home.

Does SunMed Medical Systems offer Continuing Education?

Yes. In fact, our newest program on Negative Pressure Wound Therapy was just approved for 1 contact hour for Clinical Case Manager credit. Contact us to arrange for this program in your area. There is no charge for these programs.

Will SunMed Medical Systems be attending any upcoming trade shows?

Yes. While we always attend the national CMSA conference, we also attend many regional CMSA and other insurance related conferences throughout the year. Please contact us directly for a list of upcoming conferences or to invite us to support your local association.
